Just about six months after I last upgraded my Printrbot, I received a Printrbot Maker’s to Metal Upgrade Kit for Christmas. (Edit: this kit has since been discontinued.) Most of the components of a Printrbot Maker’s Edition and a Printrbot Simple Metal are the same things. Same electronics board, same motors, same hot end, same extruder, etc. This kit is literally only those components that are different; you disassemble your Maker’s kit and re-use pretty much everything but the wood bits to make a bigger, better, faster, stronger printer.
In any case, I have finally found some time to put it together. This time, I took a timelapse video of the assembly process, from complete printer to complete printer.
